Acai Juice As Antioxident
Acai (pronounced a-sigh-ee) berry juice is a very rich source of antioxidents, for a healthier body. But what are antioxidants and why are they vital to our health? Well as the name suggests, antioxidants are substances that have the ability to hold back the normal breakdown effects of oxygen in our bodily tissue. Antioxidants are nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, as well as enzymes. Studies have proved that blood antioxidant levels increase shortly after drinking a commercial acai juice. The acai berry has 15-20 times the antioxidants or anthocyanins that red grapes have. But don’t let that put you off red grapes or wine.

Free radicals are chemically active atoms or molecular fragments that have a charge due to an over or under supply of electrons.
Examples of free radicals are the superoxide anion or transition metals such as iron and copper, nitric acid, and ozone. Free radicals containing oxygen, are the most biologically active ones. They include derivatives of oxygen that do not contain paired electrons. Because they have one or more unpaired electrons, free radicals are highly unstable. They are hunter gatherer particles in our bodies that grab or give electrons, thereby damaging cells, proteins, and even genetic material. The same oxidative process also causes oils to become rancid, peeled apples to turn brown, and iron to rust. So acai juice antioxidents hold back the ageing process.
Without the mythical elixir of life we cannot prevent entirely, the oxidating action of free radicals. Our bodies both make them and breath them in from our atmosphere.
